The manga writer Satoru Fujinuma is troubled by his inability to express himself. However, he has an extraordinary ability that forces him to go back in time and change the course of events to prevent bad things from happening or people from dying. One day, he becomes entangled in an incident where he appears to be the killer. In an attempt to save the victim, he goes back in time and finds himself a first-grade student at an elementary school, one month before his own disappearance.
